For use in desiccator cabinets or non-vacuum desiccators, analytical balance cases and precision laboratory instruments. The clear polystyrene dish allows instant visual inspection of silica gel which changes in color from blue to pale pink as it absorbs moisture. A highly porous membrane covers the dish of desiccant providing excellent moisture absorption. It can be easily regenerated by heating cartridges in a 50ºC (122ºF) oven overnight or, for more rapid drying, simply cut the membrane and transfer the spent gel crystals into a glass or porcelain dish and place in a 150ºC (302ºF) oven for one hour. Silica gel is inert, non-corrosive and non-toxic. Cartridges are individually sealed in aluminum foil.
