One side is slanted 5 degrees to produce a large surface area, useful for aerobic cultures. The other side is slanted 20 degrees for a smaller surface area, which is ideal for anaerobic cultures and reduces drying out of medium during storage. Medium-filled tubes are autoclaved with the rack in an upright position. While medium is still hot, tilt the rack to the desired angle and allow medium to harden. Rack may be used for incubating tissue cultures or submersed in a water bath. 40 places, numbered and lettered, for 16mm tubes. Not stackable. Polypropylene rack measures 267 x 152 x 130 mm high (10 1/2 " x 6" x 5 1/8").
